Love Yourself

Quite a few years ago when I started my recovery from workaholism and relationship difficulties, one of my teachers suggested that every day I write a love letter to myself--not one that would feed my ego, but one that would nurture my heart.

I wrote simply. "Nancy, I love that you're taking time to sit and be warmed in the sun." Or "I love how calm you were through the computer problems. Well done."

Simply and easily, I was building self esteem and capacity for love.

Over the years, I have recommended this practice to others. Only a few have done it. Do you have the courage to write a love letter to yourself?

You write it:  What do you love about yourself? What are you doing to increase your capacity for love?
